Embracing Our Well-Being Journey
With over four decades dedicated to working in mental health , coupled with a Master's in adult and workplace learning, my passion revolves around nurturing the holistic well-being of body, mind, and spirit. I am in one of my best elements when engaging and facilitating with beautiful groups of humans.
I am super excited for my newest facilitative adventure as an qigong instructor. I was first introduced to qigong 25 years ago and have been practicing sporadically since then. During the pandemic and working in health care the need for continual practicing of qigong reemerged for me. I also felt called to share with other people to help assist in revitalizing their health and decreasing their stress.
I am humbled and honored to share the simple and powerful practice of qigong. It is an ancient mind body practice with the deepest roots in traditional Chinese medicine.
The term “qigong” is a combination of two words: "qi," which means “subtle breath” or “vital energy,” and "gong," which translates to “skill cultivated through steady practice.”
Together, the words describe an age-old practice that optimizes energy through the power of breath, movement, and intention setting to create health and balance within the body, spirit and mind. Qigong is complementary medicine that is suitable for everyone. However it is good practice to always seek medical advice before embarking upon any exercise program.
